![]() How to Configure and Access Synology NAS with WebDAV over Internet. as another drive in Windows Explorer) and without using Synology's Web interface (which is excellent for making basic tasks). During the installation, my client asked to have the ability to access the NAS shared files over the Internet in an easy way (e.g. A few days ago I installed a NAS drive (specifically a Synology NAS DiskStation DS418) for one of my clients. I press the left and right arrow keys and it moves to the next or previous the images. This guide contains detailed instructions on how to setup Synology NAS DiskStation with WebDav, in order to be able to Map (mount) the NAS Shared drive as a Network drive outside of the local network. I recorded in OBS, but I don't think I had the monitor size set correctly. However, on three other PCs here on the same network, connected to the same NAS, mapped to the same NAS with the same drive letter and path, I can open the images and scroll between files with any image viewer app. I can scroll from one photo to the next on every local drive containing images. The only thing I can't do is scroll between them if I open them with any image viewer app if they are ont he NAS. I can view them by opening them individually, I can see the files in the folders, see the thumbnails, rename them, move them, delete them, copy and paste them, etc. By scroll, I mean move from one photo to the next in the same folder using the keys assigned to previous and next photo. In addition tot he ones that come with windows, I've tried several third party ones and all have the same issue. On two PCs in my home, I can't scroll between image files on my NAS with any photo/image viewer software. I wonder if I'm overlooking something simple to fix this issue? I still haven't been able to solve this issue. I've tried different searches for this problem and tried every single solution/fix I could find through Microsoft and various computer support forums and reddit. ![]() The default windows photo viewer and Pictureflect photo viewer allow me to scroll through photos on the NAS with some PCs, but not others. Its become annoying when I'm trying to find a particular photo when I'm on certain PCs and I have to open each one up individually until I find the right one. Also, it makes no difference if the PC is connected to the network through ethernet or a wireless connection. There is no difference on the ability to scroll through different folders of photos, so its not a folder specific setting. I have the NAS mapped as a network drive on all of the PCs. All of the PCs log into/connect to the NAS with the same user account. I also haven't found any difference in the settings on the NAS in relations to individual PCs(there aren't any as far as I can tell). However both Windows 10 Pro OS and Windows 10 Home OS PCs can scroll through the photos on the NAS. ![]() The only difference is some PCs are Windows 10 Pro and others are Windows 10 Home. I haven't been able to figure out why this problem exists because I can't find any difference between windows security settings, file explorer settings, network settings or windows versions on the PCs. The problem is that with some windows 10 PCs on my network can scroll through image files(using the arrow keys to move to next or previous photo for example) on my Synology DS 418play NAS with the default photos app or with third party photos apps, but other PCs on my network I cant scroll through image files. I have a large amount of digital phots from my previous cell phones and digital cameras backed up to folders on my Synology NAS. Later, I found out that wasn't the case because other PCs in my home with the same windows version number, after installing updates, don't have that problem and later Windows updates didn't fix the issue. ![]() At first I thought a windows update broke the ability to scroll through images on network drives using photo viewing programs and it would be fixed later because I first noticed the problem shortly after installing a windows update on one PC in my home. ![]() The problem started last fall(Fall 2021) that I first assumed was due to a windows update, but apparently it isn't due to a Windows update. I have a problem with scrolling through phots stored on my NAS using any photo viewer software. ![]()
